Sunday 4th March 2007....Leaflet Drop      A few of us did a leaflet drop around the neighbourhood on Sunday afternoon. I myself was quite impressed with the positive feedback on the idea. As well as this, we arrived on a general concensus that a general cleanup of the site, canal and laneway would be a good idea for the next visit. Cathal has done up a general layout of plans for the the site. One of the proposals is to plant wildflowers on the bank edit

Finglas Community Garden and Eco-City Grant      The Finglas Community Gardeners had a wild winters-day gardening on the 3rd of December preparing the ground for next year using compost from the Sitric Garden. We may hold another one before Christmas. Finglas Gardening started again yesterday 7th March... Will be meeting every Wednesday from 5:30 pm....Any queries ring Lara on 0861717726 The group have also recently recieved funding from the Canal Communites Partnership (well done Dunc!) and are looking at ways of using this in the Rialto and Dolphins Barn areas in 2007. Any suggestions are appreciated.> edit

Scariff Seed Savers Cycle!!!!      Who was the originator of this great idea??? Time now to see who's interested and start making provisional plans. I think the cycle from Dublin might be a bit extreme and take most of the enjoyment out of it so....how about some scenic cycling from Galway/Limerick or Ennis to Seed Savers and having a 2 to 3 day cycle (daily 30-40 miles ish)/camping trip around the Burren area! Who's up for it?> Patrick edit

Saint Joseph's National School: Finglas Wed 06 May (6pm)      Another enjoyable evening had last Wednesday. Had some further contact with the neighbours. We'll be doing it all again next Wednesday......Hopefully see you there. edit
Saint Joseph's National School, Barry Avenue, Finglas Wed 31 May (6pm)      We had an enjoyable evening in the new garden at Saint Joseph's National School last Wednesday. Seven gardeners were there enjoying the sun, the craic and the earth. Next Wednesday we have the opportunity to publicise the garden at a plant sale organised by DCC in Saint Joseph's school. This is being held between 6 p.m. & 8p.m. and we hope to hand out fliers and meet some potential locals who would like to garden communally. So on Wednesday 31st there will be people outside the school gardening and people inside the school doing some publicity and maybe picking up a few plants for the garden. edit
