See the Garden Locations page for directions. Dolphin's Barn Community GardenArticle by Paul on the garden. Dolphin's Barn Community Garden was established on a patch of disused land next to the canal in Dolphin's Barn in April 2005. In 2005 a considerable amount of food was cultivated from the garden. The reason the land was disused is that it was earmarked for a motorway proposal in the 1960's. Gardening in Dolphin's Barn is currently cancelled as the owner plans to landscape part of the site. They had kindly permitted us to use the site throughout 2005. Also, due to the landscaping plans for the site, the fruit trees and bushes have been relocated to the Phibsboro garden. We are currently on the lookout for alternative locations and aim to have discussions with Dublin City Council and the Docklands Development Authority. In the immediate short term, there are two gardening sites in Phibsboro and hopefully, another shortly in Finglas. Culpeper Community Garden is an excellent example of what we'd like to have in Dublin. Also, the Cork Mandala is a fantastic example of the Community Gardening idea.
